Naturigin Permanent Hair Dye 4.0 Brown | Review
So I came across this brand on instagram, read some reviews and thought I'd give it a try. I liked the fact it has low PPD levels and some oils in it to let hair shine and protect whilst colouring it. I was using henna to dye my hair which was perfect, but its temporary and sort of washes and fades after a few weeks as its a semi dye. So I thought once in a while I'll try use a Permanent hair dye. You still get a good tone or shade in the hair with henna but my greys were coming back with henna - not too badly but I think even with henna they covered it for a few weeks which was impressive. I thought I'd try permanent hair dye but a brand thats not a high street one with alot of chemicals in it. This brand has the lowest PPD levels according to other hair dyes, along with no ammonia, hydrogen peroxide. I wasn't expecting bleach in this anyway as its a darker colour.
There were alot of good reviews on how it covered greys, I only have a few on my crown randomly scattered, I could probably get way with not dying it, but its such a contrast with dark hair, it bugs me! I can say that it covers grey hairs really well...I just need to see how long it lasts...colourwise on my dark hair, I have a warm tone brown shade to my hair. Probably will go lighter in the sun which I don't mind.
The scent of the dye is not strong, its either floral and barely noticeable. The only negative I have is, its a slim bottle and when high street dye brands like Loreal and Clairol can cover all of your hair, Naturigin didn't! By the time I did my roots I barely had a third of product left to sparingly go over my ends. I do have thick below the shoulder hair but usually one bottle is usually enough, but next time I will have to get two.
Also I did love the aftercare hair conditioner, was surprised to see a blue gel, but it was softening for my hair and lathered really well not to mention smelled great!
My Final Thought
Covers greys really well, just have to see how long it lasts. Shade was lovely a dark warm brown. Dye it self - there's not much in it for whole head covering so next time I will have to buy two which isn't cost savvy but alot cheaper than the salons I suppose! Also it felt like it was gentle on the hair as my roots and scalp didnt feel sore like it usually does after a permanent hair dye. My hair hasn't dried out either.
It has been two weeks I dyed my hair, my greys are still covered..not as dark as when I first dyed it but not that visible and blends in with the rest of my hair. My hair also feels soft, as if I never even dyed it which is impressive as usually dye can make the ends feel abit dry and frizzy.
I think I will probably try this again but in a few months, and may go a shade lighter for summer.
