Beauty Kitchen - Abyssinian Oil Night Halo Potent Sleep Mask | Review

Image
Wow what a long name for a product, but its so true to the name! This mask feels so thick and luxurious, its perfect for those with dry, tired looking skin that needs a pick me up. I've been using it for the colder months as its winter now in the UK and its perfect to put on in the evening before bed. I usually put this one an hour before bed so it sinks into the skin rather than getting residue on my pillow as it does feel quite heavy and balmy. The texture feels like a balm, thick in the pot but feels like an oil once its on the skin. it smells so lovely and herbally, can't put my finger on what it is but it smells so nice, perfect scent for relaxation and winding down for the evening. Its like luxury in a pot and makes me happy using it, I'm sure then scent of it makes me sleep better, along with their body lotion which I also love. My final thoughts I love this sleep mask, it defiantly is potent and perfect for winter, it's literally a hydrating

Naturtint Permanent Hair Dye Colour in Teide Brown 6.0 | Review

So I like to switch up my hair colours abit, and hadn't dyed my hair for about 5/6 months. I picked up 6.0 in Teide Brown from Holland and Barretts instead of my usual 5N Chestnut Brown or 6N Dark Blonde. The colour did work well on my hair, I got a lighter side of medium warm brown hair colour. The only think is I don't like warmer shades of brown in my hair as they tend to pick up red/orange or ginger tones in my hair which you can see more in sunlight. So if you are looking for a warm brown then this is a nice shade, but after experimenting with a few colours I noticed warm browns don't suit my complexion, as I'm already warm skintoned, and I feel it makes my skin look more on the orange side. I know they say cooler tones suit cooler complexions but I know by experimenting over the years cooler tones actually freshen up my complexion and complement golden skintones really nicely. Sometimes the opposite works much better! My Final Thought These shades do work a

Current Skincare Routine | Review

Image
Bravura - Purifying Calendula Toner This toner has been amazing. Usually toners don't tend to do much but are still part of a cleansing routine, however I noticed a big difference whilst using this toner. I was suffering from very dehydrating, dry congested skin, and this product changed the texture of my skin completely. I use it daily in the AM and PM, the ingredients have helped make my skin feel hydrated, supple and plump, so I'm very impressed with this. Overtime it gave me a glow and I think his is due to its exfoliating properties such as the Glycolic Acid. I think this is a great place to start on acids, as its a gentle toner and wouldn't strip the skin or aggravate sensitive skin.  Millionaire Peptide Pro - Gentle Exfoliating Gel Hydrating Skin Serum This is an instagram famous brand that has been quite hyped up since their Millionaire Hair Mist came out. I purchased this as I prefer using natural ingredients in my skincare and try to avoid bad in

September Empties | Review

Balm Balm - Little Miracle Rosehip Serum  I think this is the third bottle I've purchased, so I obviously love it lol. I think for the price its a great product and works so well for my skin. I use it in the evening as part of my skincare routine before bed and wake up with lovely, young, smooth poreless looking skin. One thing I would mention is that this is not just Rosehip oil alone, it has a mixture of different oils which I think is a bonus as they work well together and the product smells amazing! I have a full review on my blog.  Evolve Organic Beauty - Nourishing Hair Elixir I really enjoyed using this, hair felt softer and smoother, I used a few drops on my wet hair and some on my ends when my hair was dried. I can't say anything bad about this product, its natural and contains argan oil which is great for hair. I love trying new products so not sure if I would buy this product again anytime soon, although I would recommend it as its a great no

Mario Badescu Brightening Kit & Facial Spray | Review

Image
I've heard good things about Mario Badescu's skincare range and I thought the best way to try their products out was to buy a skincare regime kit where I can try a few products at the same time. In this kit you get to 'CLEANSE, TONE, BRIGHTEN AND PERFECT' as it says on the box. Step 1: Glyconic Foaming Cleanser I love this product and its one I'd probably buy in full size. It's gentle yet does an amazing deep clean on the face. my skin feels refreshed, soft smooth and plump. I use this product 2/3 times a week. I should say that when the box came I thought the size of the products looked really small, but you really do not need to use alot of product and it does last a while.  Step 2 : Alpha Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion  I think this pairs really well with the cleanser and I use this in my evening regime. I would say I prefer the Liz Earle toner as that has witch hazel in it and I feel it helps keeps acne at bay better. Step 3: Vitamin C Seru

EX1 Delete Fluide Concealer | Review and swatch

Image
The EX1 fluide concealer has recently launched and I decided to pick that up with the foundation. I brought the EX1 Invisiwear Foundation in shade 7.0 which was formerly shade F300 and the EX1 Fluid Concealer in shade 6.0. EX1 Invisiwear Foundation shade 7.0 I have done a review on the foundation previously in more detail which can be found HERE . For a short summary about this foundation I will say that it does feel lightweight, and now that I own a few foundations I can say that looking back now that this wasn't the most strongest yellow/golden pigmented foundation I own. When it's swatched it does look warm but more neutral than yellow/golden such as Maybelline Fit Me in 220 or Mac Studio Fix NC40 in comparison. Even though it's not that yellow/golden as they range suggests it, it works well and has a rich pigmented formula in the foundation to adapt to your skintone perfectly. I don't know if they have changed the formula since I owned the last bottle in F3

Urban Veda Neem Purifying Facial Wash & Exfoliating Facial Polish | Review

Image
I got these online before they hit Boots. I've been using the wash and polish daily, morning and evening. I've nearly finished both and I am quite impressed with them. They both work really well together and leave the face feeling really fresh, clean and smooth without making it feel dry.  The Facial Wash is perfect for taking makeup off. It takes all of it off which I love as some face washes can't even do that. The Face Polish works perfectly to deep clean and gently exfoliate the face leaving it feeling very soft and literally squeaky clean without feeling like it's dried or stripped the face. Neem Purifying Facial Wash Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Triethanolamine, Glycerin (vegetable origin), Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Polysorbate 20, Mentha Arvensis (Wild Mint) Leaf Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Melia Az

Loreal Bronde Hair Dye | Review

Image
So I bought this randomly whilst shopping in Asda for nappies, so colouring my hair was not part of the plan! I've not tried the Bronde range before and I picked up shade no. 5 which is for dark brown hair to achieve beige highlights. I followed the instructions carefully and watched some videos online to get the jist of how to use this as it comes with a tool to get a highlighted or balayage effect.  I haven't coloured the ends of my hair for over 8 months to a year so have faded colour or my own natural colour. I have only been dying my roots to get rid of some random greys in a colour close to my own hair colour so the bottom of my hair has been untouched for a while and that's what I wanted to dye lighter. It does say to use this product on natural hair so I'm guessing its probably not the best on newly dyed or processed hair.  I left the product on for an hour even though it says 20 to 45 minutes. I found at 45 minutes I couldn't see much of a change s

Kiko Free Soul Highlighter | Review and swatches

Image
I don't own a lot of highlighters..I have been using up my Laura Gellar highlighters I got in a limited edition set and the shade that I used the most has hit pan. I wanted a gold highlighter and as Kiko is so affordable I decided to get one from there. Kiko has a limited edition collection out called Free Soul which has lovely light green packaging and products in cute compact sizes that are great for travelling. I literally got talked into the highlighter and I'm glad I got it. The assistant in the shop had it on, and she was of a deeper complexion and it looked stunning on her. This highlighter has three shades that you can use each of or swipe all three to get a lovely shade. This is so convenient in having 4 shades literally in a small compact and it 's a bargain at £12.90!  The shades are really pigmented, my pics below are taken with one swipe. The shades are not metallic looking, they are illuminating which I prefer as it looks more natur

Kiko Free Soul Highlighter - love this! 3D Hydra Lipglosses in shades 11 and 26.  Dua Bronzer in Fall 2.0 - love this its soooo smooth and not to dark so it gives the perfect natural flawless looking bronzed look. I also use it as a subtle contour shade, it's not orange either.

Evolve Beauty Nourishing Hair Elixir | Review

Image
I loveee this! I used to use the Kerastase Ultime Elixirs or whatever they were called, they smelled amazing and made my hair feel great, however I wanted to move away from chemical and artifical based products, and look for something abit for organic or natural.  I came across this brand on Instagram, they have alot of followers and some interesting looking products. I came across this Hair Elixir, and looked at the ingredients, and its obviously contained with oils that are perfect for the hair.  Even though it has oils in it, it feels more like a serum, which is perfect, its light, sort of has the consistency of water if you shake the bottle about, so you know its not going to make the hair feel heavy and greasy like you have a pile of product in it. I feel like this is the perfect hair serum for ALL hair types, its so softening, my hair feels amazing, gives a lovely shine, but most of all my hair feels and looks healthy. I use a few drops when I come out the shower and run

Vichy Corrective Foundation in 35 Sand | Review & swatch

Image
I really wanted to love this foundation, the reviews are amazing, and it seems like you can't go wrong with this, but I don't think it suits me or it not that good. First of all there are only 5 shades. I guessed mine online, and then realised its stocked at boots so swatched the colours and thought Sand looks about right. They didn't have a 45 Gold tester, which I could also be.  Consistency The consistency is fine, runny and creamy, not watery. Easy to blend on the face, I used a sigma F80 brush first, and it looked cakey. I then looked online and read the best way to apply this foundation is with a light brush and instead of buffing it it, just lightly using patting motions instead. So I used my real techniques face brush which was abit better. It looked great on, however halfway during the day, I feel like its gotten shiny in a greasy way, the foundation has started to get patchy on my forehead, and sitting in a few of my lines around my laughter lines and ch

Inika Blooming Nude Mineral Loose Blush | Review

Image
OMD love this blush. I dont think I have ever purchased one in this shade. Normally steer away from bronze or brown blushes as I thought it would dull me out. However its such a warm shade and can be used as a bronzer too. It gives a lovely glowy natural sunkissed look about my skin. I love how it feels really light and silky on the skin, I usually gravitate to this on days out or to run errands. I do feel however half way during the day the colour is still there on my face however I feel it fades or goes just a tad patchy, nothing too noticeable but just something I can spot myself, probably as i do get shiny during the day. I do feel the Elemental Beauty blusher which is way more cheaper lasts my working day much longer and still looks pigmented. My Final thought I love the sleek packaging, the sifter pot and how quick I can get the colour that I want through building it up but would I purchase it again? Hmm..Inika is alot more high end, their foundation I would purchase again (on

Revlon Colourstay Foundation in 310 Warm Golden | Review and swatch

Image
I looked at many drugstore foundation reviews and swatched a whole bunch at stores before I got this foundation. Revlon Colourstay seemed to have the most best consistant reviews. Drugstore foundations are cheap especially on offer but I don't want to end up hoarding loads of foundations that I'm not going to use, so spending my £££ wisely now. (Especially now that I'm trying to be minimal with the amount of products I own!) Shade I was quite disappointed with the shade range. I think they will suit either fair tones or dark tones, there's not much catered for medium tones. Also all of the shades are very neutral or on the pink side as I was hoping they would be some yellow/golden shades. The shade I managed to get is called 'Warm Golden'. Fron the description I thought it would be a warm medium lovely yellow toned shade, but it's a tad neutral and slightly on the pink side. The darker shade down which is True Beige looked very neutral and the rest

Naturtint Styling Mousse | Review

Image
Looking for alternative styling products minus all the bad ingredients is pretty hard. I picked Naturtint's styling mousse up from my local Holland and Barretts. The reviews seemed pretty good with not much negatives so I bought this when it was on offer for £7.99 rather than paying full price which was £10.99 I believe. I actually really like this mousse, it's more lightweight and keeps hair soft and natural looking, yet fixing my natural curls and defining them. To describe the foam, it feels like bubble bath water minus the scent lol. Unlike drugstore Mousse's this product does not make your hair sticky, crunchy, or hard. I think this is why its perfect for second or third day hair as you can build up as much product and it will never feel crunchy, the worst feeling ever! My curls feel very soft and bouncy which also gives the look a more natural softer feel to it.  How I use it Once my hair is washed and conditioned, I towel dry let my hair air dry without no

PHB Natural and Organic Eyeliner | Review

Image
Love this brand and glad I discovered it. I actually got this liner in my LoveLula beauty box a few months ago. The fact that its natural and has almond oil and Vitamin E in it is great! I use it as a kohl pencil for my bottom waterline and it works so smoothly and doesn't smudge or move around. It also doesn't get messy which is SO important as with other kohl liners, they melt or you end up with panda eyes. This liner is black, although I find its not the blackest of blacks, it comes on looking like a dark charcoal grey which I don't mind as it looks more natural.  I wear contact lenses regularly so I think I should mention it doesn't effect or irritate my eyes at all. Some liners can leave flaky bits that go into your eyes and irritate them and I find this liner is creamy so it doesn't do that at all. It's very gentle and suitable for sensitive eyes which it says on the product. It does wear off abit during the day but as its natural I don't mind tha

PHB Ethical Beauty Loose Mineral Foundation in Beige | Review & swatch

Image
PHB Loose Mineral Foundation in Beige I seem to be doing alot of PHB reviews lately, only because I ordered a few of their samples to try and loved them so I'm happy to share my thoughts with you. So I ordered the travel size version of the Loose Mineral Foundation in Beige which is suited to medium to tan warm golden undertones. The lighter shade before this is called Peach which I am in, in the Liquid Formula, but I found the picture of the shade looked a tad light. It could probably still work as its for Light to Medium peachy skintones however I found Beige looked warmer. I'm glad I only got the Beige in the end as I have a million pots of sample Loose Foundations and if i don't like them they are just taking space in my drawer, but PHB's foundation has been used every day since I got it. It's been a week and I still have about another week or a few days left to use. So these are the ingredients listed on their website: Mica (refl

PHB Ethical Beauty BB Cream in Medium and Tan | Review & Swatches

Image
I picked up another product from PHB and got samples of their new BB cream. I wasn't sure what shade I would be so  I got samples of 'Medium' and 'Tan'.  Medium has been described as: A light-medium shade with warm balanced undertones for light to medium skin tones. Great for light to medium skin tones Tan has been described as: A medium tan shade with warm Peach undertones for tanned to medium skin tones. All shades have an SPF of 15 which is great, and the full size is £18.95 which is pretty good for a natural product.  The description for the BB Cream has been described as (and it sounds absolutely great btw!): PHB's skin nourishing Botanical BB Cream blurs the line between makeup and skin care. Pure Minerals provide subtle coverage to leave skin looking flawless and radiant. Made with organic ingredients that encourage an even and radiant complexion whilst nourishing and protecting skin. With a light and silky texture that won'

Loreal Balmain Lipsticks in Fever and Confession | Review and swatches

Image
Ok I know I'm abit late with the Balmain Collection. I've walked past thinking should I buy them or should I leave it. I finally decided to get two shades which I thought one is wearable and the other looks interesting! Confession Okay let's start with Confession. Omdz I think I have found my holy grail every day nude lipstick. I think this is what I have been looking for all my life but had to settle with other shades?! I think I wrote in one of my reviews I was looking forever for the perfect medium toned peachy toned nude and this is it! I love it! I think it's SO flattering for warmer complexions and just the right amount of peach to a nude lip. You do not look washed out or too pale on the lips, it has a lovely warmth to it. This is going straight into my makeup bag! Fever I have not tried this yet however excited to do a makeup look with this shade. I would describe this shade as burnt orange or pumpkin or smoked orange -that's what pops to

PHB Pure Skin Liquid Foundation in Peach | Review & swatch

Image
Not sure how I came across this brand..I was googling natural organic foundations and this came up. I researched abit into their brand and really likes their ethos. 20% of their profits go towards charity, its cruelty free, vegan and halal. All products have no harsh chemicals or toxic ingredients in them which is so reassuring that whatever you are using is safe if not good for your skin. Shade - Peach I decided to order the shade Peach and it is the perfect shade for me, I was really happy that the shade was quite warm and golden as most natural products I come across are very neutral or cater for fairier complexions. This shade is described to suit light to medium with warm undertones. I say its quite pigmented and slightly deep so medium skintones would suit this more. Consistency It feel very creamy and thick when you pump it out but once its blended out it feels quite thin and light on the skin. Also feel abit like a mousse textured foundation. Throughout the whole d
