Revlon Colourstay Foundation in 310 Warm Golden | Review and swatch
I looked at many drugstore foundation reviews and swatched a whole bunch at stores before I got this foundation. Revlon Colourstay seemed to have the most best consistant reviews.
Drugstore foundations are cheap especially on offer but I don't want to end up hoarding loads of foundations that I'm not going to use, so spending my £££ wisely now. (Especially now that I'm trying to be minimal with the amount of products I own!)

Shade
I was quite disappointed with the shade range. I think they will suit either fair tones or dark tones, there's not much catered for medium tones. Also all of the shades are very neutral or on the pink side as I was hoping they would be some yellow/golden shades. The shade I managed to get is called 'Warm Golden'. Fron the description I thought it would be a warm medium lovely yellow toned shade, but it's a tad neutral and slightly on the pink side. The darker shade down which is True Beige looked very neutral and the rest of the shades seemed to have a muddy tone to it. Even the 'tan' shades just weren't sunkissed and warm enough, so I'm wondering if the neutral tones will suit darker skintones as I'm sure the darker you are, the more warmer you complexion could possibly be?! Despite having 19 shades in this foundation range they all seem too pink/neutral for warmer skintones.
Even though the shade range is abit crappy, this foundation literally is what it says, its lasts long and the shade doesn't oxidise. I feel it does warm up after you initially apply it, but doesn't oxidise during the day which is great. I am able to pull off this shade - I use bronzer just to warm it up abit, it blends well so the shade doesn't look off or anything so it is adaptable to golden skintones. Having said that, I'm using this in winter months when I'm slightly paler so it might not suit me in the summer months when I'm more tanned/warmer. I do sometimes add a pump of a more yellow toned foundation to this just to glow it up abit, and it looks wonderful.
Coverage
The foundation type I got is for Oily skin, as I get shiny during the day. It settles really well during the day, it is probably the only foundation I own that hardly gets oily or shiny on me during the day. I would say its a medium to full coverage foundation, I literally use a tiny one pump amount for my whole face and blend it in with the real techniques face buffing brush. It feels really light on the skin considering its full coverage. My skin looks flawless yet natural, like I just have really good smooth skin. I feel like the staying power is great, it doesn't move around or transfer, my blush and bronzer sit so well with this foundation, it completes the look so well. It gives me a fresh face look, semi matte finish so its not entirely matte which is great as it gives more of a natural skin look.
My Final Thought
A great drugstore foundation, it doesn't feel heavy or cakey. I would say it is abit drying, so face should be moisturised well. I think when I used 2/3 pumps it felt cakey on my face and it did cling to some dry places which I didn't even know I had like on my forehead! So one pump is defo enough for me. I wish they had more warmer shades then this would be the ultimate foundation! If your a MAC NC 35 -37 then this is perfect, for NC 40 it might be a tad light. I been using this for work and days that I want longer staying power and I know this foundation won't fail.
