Naturtint Styling Mousse | Review
Looking for alternative styling products minus all the bad ingredients is pretty hard. I picked Naturtint's styling mousse up from my local Holland and Barretts. The reviews seemed pretty good with not much negatives so I bought this when it was on offer for £7.99 rather than paying full price which was £10.99 I believe.
I actually really like this mousse, it's more lightweight and keeps hair soft and natural looking, yet fixing my natural curls and defining them. To describe the foam, it feels like bubble bath water minus the scent lol. Unlike drugstore Mousse's this product does not make your hair sticky, crunchy, or hard. I think this is why its perfect for second or third day hair as you can build up as much product and it will never feel crunchy, the worst feeling ever! My curls feel very soft and bouncy which also gives the look a more natural softer feel to it.
How I use it
Once my hair is washed and conditioned, I towel dry let my hair air dry without no heat. I apply this on damp hair, and scrunch it up to get some definition in my wavy/curly hair. As this product doesn't add shine I use a separate serum to add abit of silkiness and shine.
My Final thought
I have blow-dried and straightened my hair so much over the years, literally everyday and decided to take a break from it and embrace my curls (don't know how long that will last!) I think it's taking it's toll as no matter how much I oil it or add deep conditioners, all the heat styling tools just zap the life out of my hair. In winter my hair has been very dry and frizzy, and this product has helped keep my waves/curls tidy and in shape. It doesn't feel heavy on the hair, or like I have any build up on. I have thick wavy asian hair and this product works well with my hair type. I think its also suitable for those that want to style their hair wavy, add definition to the waves and just make their hair appear healthier and look better. I'm not sure if this would suit afro hair types as it's very light almost like water and perhaps creamier or firm hold products may work better. I would purchase this product again but when it's on offer, I feel £10.99 is bordering on expensive for a styling product! Also with the ingredients, I noticed alcohol is the second one on the list, which kind of did put me off, however it doesn't contain silicones or parabens. If any one knows an even more natural alternative you recommend please let me know!
