The Ordinary Full Coverage Foundation | Review

So I brought this the same time I got the serum foundation. I think I prefer the full coverage foundation because it gives that extra coverage and doesn't feel too heavy on the skin, I only use a light layer. I have read that some people find it abit cakey, I think it would be if you layer it on a few times, but one layer is sufficient for me.

I have the shade 2.1Y, like the serum foundation it is a tad deep in shade for me, the right tone, but just alittle bit dark for me. I also notice it does oxidise abit and as its super pigmented it can start to look abit darker during the day.

Overall it feels light on the skin, coverage is smooth, I think if I had the right shade I could make it work, the fact that its so pigmented is amazing. They do claim that if your guessing your shade and your 1 or 2 shades out it can still work for you, but I disagree as it is SO pigmented it is better to make sure you get the right shade. you can make it work I guess using a lighter concealer or darker contour to blend it in.

Would I buy this again? I think I brought this as it was a novelty thing, it was the rage at the time, and its super cheap. It isn't the best foundation I've come across, so if you not looking at the price point and just the foundation I think there are better ones out there.

The packaging is so convenient for traveling, it is one of those foundations perfect for traveling, its light and plastic and practical with a pump! It has been sitting in my drawer, but it is a foundation I would take on holiday or get more use out of in the summer, due to its deeper shade.

My final thought
Excited when it came in the post. For the price its worth it, and if your looking for a budget friendly foundation that does have coverage and caters for all skin tones then this is it. However if your comparing it to your usual HG high end foundation then its obviously not going to be a dupe for it in my opinion, apart from having a really good shade range the full coverage doesn't give you dimension, luminosity or a glow which I look for in foundation.

EDIT: thought I'd come back to this post and Serum one which which you can click HERE for. As I have come back to and been using both Serum and Full Coverage all week, I do prefer the look of the Serum foundation, it's slightly more skin like and semi-matte, with highlighter and everything it looks like you have great skin - the shade is alittle too warm but it actually does give a lovely sunkissed look on me with bronzer/contour etc. The full coverage is medium to full coverage but it looks flat on the skin so you will have to use other products to compliment the look your going for. One major positive about this range is that this shade is quite unique as its very hard to find foundations with strong yellow/golden tones so that's what I love about this range. I am about a MAC NC40 or slightly lighter in winter and this shade is probably the closest match. It is very strongly pigmented and very golden, if you prefer yellow golden shades then this would look beautiful against your complexion if you have those tones.
