Vichy Corrective Foundation in 35 Sand | Review & swatch

I really wanted to love this foundation, the reviews are amazing, and it seems like you can't go wrong with this, but I don't think it suits me or it not that good.

First of all there are only 5 shades. I guessed mine online, and then realised its stocked at boots so swatched the colours and thought Sand looks about right. They didn't have a 45 Gold tester, which I could also be.

Consistency
The consistency is fine, runny and creamy, not watery. Easy to blend on the face, I used a sigma F80 brush first, and it looked cakey. I then looked online and read the best way to apply this foundation is with a light brush and instead of buffing it it, just lightly using patting motions instead. So I used my real techniques face brush which was abit better. It looked great on, however halfway during the day, I feel like its gotten shiny in a greasy way, the foundation has started to get patchy on my forehead, and sitting in a few of my lines around my laughter lines and chin. So what started off well didn't last! I also used my Liz Earle Light moisturiser sparingly as I though that's what's affecting this product but I can't go without a moisturiser. Also I'm not the most oiliest person, and I find this foundation has started to go shiny and patchy in areas like its started to separate.

Shade
I got the shade 35 Sand, its more on the pink/neutral side, but still workable and matches me. I'd say its like a Mac Studio fix in NC35-37. The thing is when I apply it, it looks a fraction of a shade light for me, but after an hour it matches me perfectly, so it has oxidised abit. The fact that it has SPF 35 in it, makes it have this ever so slight sort of ashy halo to my face, I think its something that I'd only notice, and also looking in pics my face looks lighter because of the SPF. Not a big issue, but I do prefer a warmer glowy look but because of the SPF it doesn't have that warmth. Maybe the next shade down 45 Gold would of been better but if that oxidises like this then would of been darker for me.

My Final Thought
Wish I loved this, it paraben free, but I'm not impressed with how its lasted on my face considering it says 16 hour coverage. I am going to experiment with this and try it with my fingers instead, use a powder on top, perhaps use less product, but based on the first two days worth of impressions I don't like it. It doesn't sit well on my face for a start, I think their shades are abit hit and miss, and this isn't perfect for me. Will not be buying this again, glad I only got it for £13. I dont think I have the most difficult skin type, I dont have any blemishes, just the odd dark pigmentation, normal sometimes oily skin, and this product still didnt work for me! It's just sitting in my drawer now at the back sadly!
