NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Review

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

I'm not a fan of lipglosses much and this caught my eye because its packaged and applied like a lipgloss however its very pigmented and matte. I bought Antwerp first and loved the colour and how it felt so I bought a few more which I thought would compliment medium golden-tanned complexions.

Antwerp: a lovely warm vibrant coral peachy-pink colour. I love this shade because it's like a natural lip colour but more extra vibrant so it really makes the lips pop and it really brightens my complexion when the rest of my makeup is very natural.

Addis Ababa: a vibrant bright blue toned pink. Lovely colour if you like bright shades, very summery and fun.

Stockholm: a natural nude muted light peachy - brown toned colour. I use this when my eyes are more smokey or dark and want to go for a nude look on the lips. I wouldn't use this for a natural look on its own as it can sometimes wash my skin colour out, so the rest of the makeup on the face has to pop in order to make this look good.

Amsterdam: a vibrant bold blue toned slightly scarlet shaded red. This red is lovely and I think would suit alot of complexions. It isn't too orange or too pink or to dark or light. It's a lovely medium bold red!

How they feel/look: they are what they say, lips feel very soft. I always moisturise my lips with a non greasy lip balm like Eos before I apply these. I found if I didn't use a lip balm before I applied them, they would settle into fine lines on the lips alot more and look abit dry and flake. During the day they do build up round the inner corners of the lips abit, but they such lovely colours specially Antwerp which I use the most, I don't mind for the amount they cost, they are really good! I'm into matte colours and no matter how bright you go with these colours they look nice and understated because they are not shiny and in your face.

My Final Thought:
I love NYX's colour selection they are all bold and unique. I specially love Antwerp, I have been looking for dupes in that colour in lipsticks but can never find one that suits me as perfect as this colour.

They all smell lovely like vanilla cake or something. The packaging is really cute and I love that they used city names!

I was really impressed with the quality of these soft matte creams as I imagined them to be quite sheer and would easily come off which isn't the case. They glide on smoothly, and dry to a matte look. The shades are very pigmented and buildable so the more layers your apply the more deeper and bolder in shade you can go.

I think they have widened their colour range so I will definitely be purchasing more colours. I only wish they had a branch here in superdrugs or somewhere as it costs a fiver for delivery, so it's always good to order in bulk so you might be entitled to free delivery depending on how much you spend.
