Clinique Superbalanced Foundation in Silk Sahara | Review

I was looking for a foundation that has abit more of a fuller or 'put together' coverage for those days I didn't want to use my natural products. I've never tried any of Clinique's products before probably down to no being interested however there foundations seem to have good reviews and are a tad bit less expensive than the luxury brands which usually start at £28 and over.

I went to my local Boots and asked the assistant which foundation would suit me, I wanted something abit matte, natural looking but with at least medium coverage. She pointed me in the direction of the Superbalanced foundation. Most of the shades do look alot pink overall in most of their shades, and at the time she did match and swatch me to Silk Bamboo, which would suit me when I'm abit tanner probably. Although I went home, watched some youtube videos did my research and guessed that I'd best suit with Silk Sahara. I think its a perfect yellow/golden tone for light-medium and medium skintones. I think Silk Bamboo is better suited for golden tones that run from medium to tan medium. I hope this makes sense...! The Bamboo is abit more richer and deeper in colour. I don't know why but I always get matched to the tan shades and they match at the time perhaps because what I have on has oxidised too, or that I'm Asian they assume I'd use 'Tan' shades! Anyways I end up spending 30£ on something and my family are like why do you look so dark, or you look orange. So annoying..so I think I do a better job of matching myself!

Anyway this shade matched me perfectly, it gives me a fresh faced and glowy look. The shade is perfect.

Coverage
It goes on like a dream...its smooth and feels light and silky on the face. It gives a semi matte finish, which looks natural and glowy once it settles on the skin. I don't look oily by the end of the day, I just have a lovely glow from my own oils coming out but nothing greasy.

I would definitely buy this again, I got it on offer for £20 instead or £24. I don't usually stick with one foundation there's always something that would put me off, the smell, the thickness, cakeyness, shade etc. however I feel this is spot on and what I was always looking for! It makes you look like you have good skin from within and I have gotten alot of compliments from people.

The only downside I can think of is it comes in a sturdy non travel friendly bottle with no pump. So it could leak everywhere.

Also it goes on amazingly well with the real techniques face buffing brush. its great not to have to use fingers!

My Final thought and Edit
I've come back to this post as I still love this foundation but I thought I would note down that it does move around abit during the day so a setting powder would be good. I tend to touch my forehead at my desk and notice my foundation has moved about easily and I need to blend it in abit. The coverage looks smooth and lovely but there is abit of movement and patchiness by the end of the working day.
