How to restore & get soft shiny thick luscious hair using Sweet Almond Oil, Avocado OIl & Rosemary Essential Oils
How to restore & get soft, thick, luscious healthy hair using natural hair oils
Dyeing my hair frequently and getting highlights on dark hair really took its toll on my hair. No matter what shampoo and conditioner I switched too, nothing really helped. The mid to end lengths of the hair was dry and damaged and my roots just felt rough and frizzy. I really needed some deep conditioning to sort my hair out, and drugstore 3 minute miracles products, and hair masks just weren't good enough, most of them have too much fragrance and artificial stuff in them they don't really penetrate and make a difference to the hair. Instead of helping to try and restore hair, they just coat the hair and make it appear or look shinier and healthy which is a good quick remedy if that's what you want but isn't really a permanent treatment to the hair. I really needed a good pick me up routine for my hair to change the texture of it. I naturally have very thick wavy hair so its already hard to keep it moisturised and looking smooth and less frizzy.
Ingredients
I decided to experiment using few hair oils and purchased I brought my products from Amazon as I got a better deal, although you can find these in your local health shops or grocery shop.
Sweet Almond Oil
Avocado Oil and
Rosemary Essential Oils
Method
I get a small mixing bowl and depending how long your hair is or what suits your hair the most, Id make a mixture of Sweet Almond oil (roughly a tablespoon), Avocado Oil (half a tablespoon), 8 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil, mix it together, and massage it into my scalp thoroughly and into the lengths of my hair, focusing on the ends.
Duration
Most of the time I leave this in my hair overnight or for a good few hours if I'm home all day. It is quite oily and greasy looking on the hair so only do this when your at home tramping around!
How my hair feels
I wash this out with shampoo twice, and condition my hair as usual. I leave my hair to air dry naturally if I can. Even when you hair is wet, you can feel how smooth and thick your hair feels. Rosemary Oil is a really good treatment for the scalp, it's invigorating and has this nice cooling effect on the scalp, it helps promotes hair growth and healthy roots...which means healthy hair growth! Avocado Oil has a lot of healthy nutrients in it, so it's like feeding your hair with good food...its also great for your skin! Sweet Almond Oil works as a carrier oil for the other oils and it also helps keep hair soft, luscious, smooth and healthy.
I have been doing this for a few months now, keeping a strict regime, (or when I can) and its really helped restore my hair, each hair shaft feels smoother, my ends feel healthier, and overall my hair feels and looks thicker, fuller and softer, my new hair growth is also a lot shinier too. My hair just has the extra bounce like you usually get after a haircut.
I will keep doing this as its really helped restore and repair my hair. Its worth experimenting, different oils benefit people differently, sometimes for extra moisture and silkier hair you can add coconut oil to the mixture, or replace one oil instead of the other!
