How to restore & get soft shiny thick luscious hair using Sweet Almond Oil, Avocado OIl & Rosemary Essential Oils

Image
How to restore & get soft, thick, luscious healthy hair using natural hair oils Dyeing my hair frequently and getting highlights on dark hair really took its toll on my hair. No matter what shampoo and conditioner I switched too, nothing really helped. The mid to end lengths of the hair was dry and damaged and my roots just felt rough and frizzy. I really needed some deep conditioning to sort my hair out, and drugstore 3 minute miracles products, and hair masks just weren't good enough, most of them have too much fragrance and artificial stuff in them they don't really penetrate and make a difference to the hair. Instead of helping to try and restore hair, they just coat the hair and make it appear or look shinier and healthy which is a good quick remedy if that's what you want but isn't really a permanent treatment to the hair. I really needed a good pick me up routine for my hair to change the texture of it. I naturally have very thick wavy hair so its alr...

Topshop Sheer Lips Review

Image
Topshop Sheer Lips in Nuclear & Red Alert Topshop's new lip range! I bought two colours which I thought would compliment my skintone in Nuclear and Red Alert. They had a light nude sort of colour which wouldn't suit my complexion as I have dark pigmented lips, it would look too sheer and I think they had a deep plumy shade too. How they look/feel: They come on sheer with the first layer like a tinted lip balm, the more you apply and layer on the more stronger colour you can get. Its lovely for a sheer lip tint or if you want a bolder look its definitely buildable. The are very moisturising and soft on the lips, not sticky though. Only thing is with these moisturising lip tints is that during the day they kind of seep outside your lips, so don't get carried away and use right to the rims of your lips, I use it just as a natural lip tint. Topshop Bronzer in 'Sandcastle' Review

Image
Topshop Bronzer in Sandcastle I'm glad I bought this, I don't usually use bronzers much and never experimented with them but as spring and summer is on the way, I do love a good sunkissed look! How it looks: Topshop have two shades, 'Sandcastle' and 'Mohawk'. Sandcastle was the lighter shade which I got and Mohawk was slightly darker. I prefer matte bronzers as I don't like to look shimmery or glittery, specially with oily skin, I prefer using highlighters for glowy looks. As this bronzer is matte its also perfect for contouring too. This shade is perfect for subtle contouring, as it's just slightly a shade or two darker than my own skin tone, and I use it across my forehead or anywhere else I want to add warmth too. Sometimes if my foundation looks abit too light, I use this too warm up my face. The shade name is spot on as it really does look like sand, it also reminds me of the toffee colour. Collection CreamPuff Moisturising Lip Cream Review

Image
Collection CreamPuff Moisturising Lip Cream These caught my eye at Superdrugs and I thought dupe (ahem..copy) of NYX soft matte lips creams! I picked up two colours that I thought would suit me. I don't usually by stuff from 'Collection', it is probably the cheapest makeup brand in drugstores, and nothing really appealed to me from their range although I did try their concealer once and was impressed. Fairy Cake This shade is very similar to NYX's 'Antwerp' which I love. Its a nice soft warm coral colour, which can look more vibrant if layered on. Not sure why it's called Fairy Cake though as coral doesn't really relate to cake to me..hmm! Cotton Candy A warm medium rose pink shade. top: Cotton Candy, bottom: Fairy Cake left: Fairy Cake, Right: Cotton Candy How they look: When I bought these I think they were £2.99, which is really cheap. I didn't expect great quality with these, although the colour payoff is pretty goo...

Healthy Sexy Hair Leave in Conditioner Spray

Image
Healthy Sexy Hair Leave In - Conditioner   Saw this product in a Youtube video and someone was raving about it. I looked online and got the best deal on Beautybay for around £9 and free delivery. I have thick Asian wavy hair recently dyed with highlights so I need the extra conditioning specially in winter as it just goes very frizzy and dry. I thought the packaging looked cute and I’ve not tried this brand before and wanted a leave-in conditioner that’s not too heavy on the hair so I thought I’d give this a try.     How it feels/smells: It has a lovely refreshing smell can't pinpoint what exactly but it smells amazing, kind of floral and fresh. It's very light, I like the fact its a spray. I use this when my hair is still wet or damp to give it extra conditioning. The fact that its really light is good as it doesn't weigh down the hair or make it greasy or heavy looking.   My Final Thought: Its a nice light product, keeps hair feeling soft, have...

Topshop Lipsticks Review

Image
Topshop Lipsticks Review I love Topshop lipsticks, I've read some reviews that say the quality is just as good as MAC, minus the price. They have a lovely range of shades that are unique, bold and colourful (not as big as MAC’s though).  If your looking for some statement colours then Topshop has a nice range that you can choose from to suit any skin tone/shade. What I like about Topshop lippies are that they are colourful, fun and have a perfect ‘medium shade’ range meaning are great for golden/tan complexions and darker shades. They have a few paler shades, but even the nudes and corals can really work on Asian skin tones because they are not too milky or pale. I haven’t dared to use their darker shades, simply because I like colours I can wear at work and out and about, but I think the good thing about these lipsticks are they are warm toned rather than cool so they cater for warmer complexions really well.   From Left: Ditsy, Charmed, Oh La La How to use: I al...

Earthnicity Mineral Blusher Review

Image
Earthnicity Mineral Blusher Review in Sorbet So glad I got this shade, it compliments my skin really nicely and looks like a natural colour I'd get if I blushed. A little goes a long way as it's very pigmented and glides on smoothly on top of the Earthnicity Mineral Foundation too. It's a lovely warm peachy shade with really tiny specs of shimmer in it. It gives a lovely healthy looking glow. In the summer if you used this shade with abit of bronzer you will just look beautifully sunkissed! Earthnicity Mineral Blusher in Sorbet My Final Thought: Really impressed with Earthnicity's products, they feel and look of high quality and their online sales are really generous too, non of that 10% crap, more like 40% with these guys, so you won't feel out of pocket!  Isn't it such a cute colour? Next shade I got my eye on is Sweet Pink!

Bajaj Almond Drops Non Sticky Hair Oil Review

Image
Bajaj Almond Drops Non Sticky Hair Oil with Vitamin E I have gone through a lot of hair oils and I use them frequently in between my washes and I leave it overnight when I have the time.  I like trying out different brands, so I saw this in my local Indian shop, and it was very cheap so I thought I'd give it a try (big mistake).  I was in a rush so I didn't take a look at the ingredients however when I got home I noticed the 1st ingredient was mineral oil which I've read some negative things about...and the 2nd ingredient being vegetable oil?!  First thing that came to my mind was the oil my mum uses to make a curry, so didn't feel too good about putting this stuff on my hair. Then finally the 3rd ingredient being almond oil and then vitamin E oil. I'm trying to moving more towards natural products now specially when it comes to hair oils, one of my favourite light hair oils being 'Fushi Really Good hair Oil' so the ingredients in Bajaj reall...

Akamuti Authentic African Black Soap Review

Image
Akamuti Authentic African Black Soap This bar of soap is totally natural, organic and leaves my skin amazingly smooth.  On the packaging it says you can use it for the body, but I also like to use it for the face as its very gentle. Even though most natural products don't tend to lather well, this soap foams really well making it easy to wash makeup and oily skin too. As the bar is quite chunky, I cut off a small block and use that until it finishes, this way the soap lasts longer. The only thing  is it softens quickly under water so it's best to lather it in the hand before you use it, and put the block somewhere to dry.  This bar is really gentle and cleans my skin leaving it smooth and fresh, if you have sensitive skin, this would be perfect for you. As it has Shea Butter in it, it doesn't strip my skin, or make it feel tight, only a few times I have found it abit drying, however I usually spritz a toner or moisturiser after cleansing. I think...

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Review

Image
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream I'm not a fan of lipglosses much and this caught my eye because its packaged and applied like a lipgloss however its very pigmented and matte. I bought Antwerp first and loved the colour and how it felt so I bought a few more which I thought would compliment medium golden-tanned complexions. Antwerp: a lovely warm vibrant coral peachy-pink colour. I love this shade because it's like a natural lip colour but more extra vibrant so it really makes the lips pop and it really brightens my complexion when the rest of my makeup is very natural. Addis Ababa: a vibrant bright blue toned pink. Lovely colour if you like bright shades, very summery and fun. Stockholm:  a natural nude muted light peachy - brown toned colour. I use this when my eyes are more smokey or dark and want to go for a nude look on the lips. I wouldn't use this for a natural look on its own as it can sometimes wash my skin colour out, so the rest of the makeup on the fa...

Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Face Powder Review

Image
Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten This product is so underrated. I got talked into getting it by my sister quite some time ago. I got it in a set of three things from QVC. I didn't use it much at the time, as I wasn't sure exactly how to use it. After a few months of it sitting in my makeup draw, I decided to lightly brush it across my face on top of a light liquid foundation. I got into work and looked in the ladies' mirror and thought wow! Balance-n-Brighten in Medium How it looks: The thing about this product is that a little goes along way. A light brush across your face literally brightens the face up, its perfect to use after a natural sheer/light foundation, just to compliment it and complete the look.   Don't expect miracles with this product, it's something that gives you a subtle makeover, so not like heavy coverage or something. I use this everyday for a day time natural look. Its light and non cakey. This shade really compliments my ski...

Laura Geller Baked Stackable Macaroons

Image
Laura Geller Baked Stackable Macaroons Omd...this went out of stock at QVC before Christmas so I put myself on the waiting list and if they got it back in stock they would deduct the money off my card and post it too me...well just last week when I completely forgot about it, it came in the post! What a lovely surprise! :D Its a 9 piece collection of highlighters, blushers and eyeshadows all baked and yummy. I absolutely love the packaging. I have used Laura Geller products before and so knew this would be a treat without hesitation. I think she does a lovely makeup line for a everyday natural look, they are lovely beautiful unique colours.  I always make sure when she has deals like this come up on QVC to snap them up as most of the items alone are quite expensive. Her products are deliciously made in liquid and baked on terracotta pans for 24 hours and finished by hand to create lovely shades. Aren't they so yummy! Fushi Really Good Hair Oil Review

Image
Fushi Really Good Hair Oil Was googling 'good hair oils' and basically the 'Really Good Hair Oil' popped up! Says it on the can really! Normally I tend to use hair oils I get from the indian shop such as Parachute Coconut Oil, Dabur Amla, Vatika Hair oil, but I found them very greasy and heavy on the hair, plus takes ages to rinse out. I thought I'd try a european brand but I always thought they wouldn't do wonders because of all the added artificial factory type ingredients they are filled with, however, I came across their brand and was amazed by how natural their products are. This product in particular had won an award so I thought hmm let's give it a try. It does cost more than indian hair oils which are around 3 quid, but it has so many of the main key oils to get healthy hair so I thought it should be worth it. How it made my hair feel: I was pleasantly surprised because the actual consistency is quite light, it feels like a heavy s...
